The containment structure consists of metallic cages formed by galvanized steel wires and filled with stones and rocks manually or mechanically. These cages are “sewn” continuously by wires, forming monolithic structures that will be filled with stones with the help of temporary structures to guarantee the shape. The pieces are produced one by one at the final site of the work. The gabion wall represents one of the main types of existing gravity containment, being a flexible containment structure, that is, it admits and can undergo deformations within the limits stipulated in the project without losing stability and efficiency.
